Carpal tunnel syndrome
The carpal tunnel is in fact an osteo-fibrous tunnel and it is at this level that compression of the median nerve occurs.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by compression of the median nerve inside the wrist.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is part of MSD (Musculoskeletal Disorders), its appearance is favored by repetitive movements associated with microtrauma.
It can also be secondary to a fracture or long immobilization.

The treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome is primarily conservative.
Relaxing and analgesic massages often give excellent results. Learning “good gestures” and knowing those to avoid completes the treatment.
The analysis of professional gestures as well as advice on Ergonomics are often useful.
Some cases require surgical intervention.
After the operation, the physiotherapist administers circulatory massages to combat edema, he takes care of the residual scar, to limit its thickness and restore flexibility to the scar tissue.
It seeks to restore the best range of motion to the operated hand and wrist.
